The ABCs of TRX

i.d. gym is the new home of TRX Training, brought to you by master trainer Vic Jackowiak.

The TRX Training:

How does it work? TRX -- Total Body Resistance Exercise -- is a way of working out using just your body weight, gravity and a pair of straps. The straps hang from a rack to slightly destabilize your body as you run through variations of exercises ranging from classic lunges to push-ups and crunches.

Sounds simple, right? Not quite. What makes TRX such a challenge is it isolates the muscles you want to use, loading this target zone better than most other exercises. But don't worry, the amount of body weight loaded is determined by your level of fitness and conditioning.

TRX Training is good for everyone. Whether you want to keep fit, recover from an injury or chase a performance goal, it's hard to beat TRX Training. 

One of the great things about TRX Training is that you control how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise -- because you can simply adjust your body position to add or decrease resistance.

When to find TRX Suspension Training classes:

  • Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 6 am
