Introducing Sweatcon

Are you ready for another group-fitness innovation from i.d. gym? As the home of cool workouts like Fly Yoga®, the Caveman Workout and Treadmill Bootcamp, we're proud to introduce Sweatcon.

SweatCon is short for sweat conditioning, and it's a form of MetCon -- metabolic conditioning workouts that are short, fast-paced exercises that challenge your cardiovascular capacity, put your metabolism into overdrive and help you rapidly burn fat. You can think about it as a lite version of CrossFit.

What's a SweatCon Workout Like?

Brought to you in partnership with Lincoln Park CrossFit, SweatCon takes user-friendly kettlebells and medicine balls to replace barbell movements. SweatCon is designed to be a low-impact version of CrossFit, taking all the great elements of the hottest fitness trend in years but removing the factors that can make it overly difficult or intimidating.

A typical SweatCon class is 45 minutes and includes the following:

  • A short warm-up

  • Flexibility exercises

  • Skill training to learn the essential movements for your workout

And no two workouts are alike. You'll experience a fresh workout that's different day to day, week to week.

Who Should Take SweatCon?

Everybody should take SweatCon. However, it's a great way to enjoy all that CrossFit has to offer if you are getting back to exercise after a long time off, have mobility issues or chronic injuries or just don't want to get that intense while still enjoying a good workout.

What Does SweatCon Cost?

  • Your first week is FREE!

  • All SweatCon classes are free for Lincoln Park CrossFit members.

  • i.d. gym members receive a 50% discount on classes.

We offer SweatCon classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9 am.

Return to i.d. life.

"These classes are designed to meet the needs of new members who are on a budget or need an "easier" CrossFit experience to get started with a new fitness routine," Brent Holten says. "All workouts are designed for you to gain strength, flexibility and cardio conditioning."
