Class Profile: Tabata Circuit
Tabata Circuit is one of the newest additions to i.d. gym's group-fitness schedule. Led by George Deoudes, you can find this fast-paced class on Mondays at 10 am.
Similar in spirit to CrossFit or the Caveman Workout, Tabata is named after a Japanese scientist who studied the benefits of high-intensity fitness training several decades ago. He found that this method of training offers more health benefits than traditional cardiovascular exercise because it's short, efficient and can fit into any fitness program.
Our Tabata Circuit class is centered around super intense interval training at different stations throughout the group-fitness studio.
For example, at a running station, you will sprint as hard as you can for 20 seconds and then walk for 10 seconds. You'll repeat this seven more times for a total of eight sets. Then, you'll move on to the next station for eight rounds of a different exercise.
