Class Profile: H.I.I.T. - High Intensity Interval Training
H.I.T. High Intensity Training is the group-fitness class that all us need. This class combines the endurance training of plyometric drills with intervals of stretch and balance. It's an all-in-one workout!
H.I.I.T. is designed to work the entire body in short, intense blasts. It's a great cardio workout that adds some flexibility and balance training drills to maximize the workout.
The unique thing about a H.I.I.T. class is that it builds rest into the workout to improve recovery time and allow the body to more easily access fuel for the next round.
"Fuel reserves remain more readily available during and after class -- up to eight hours, in some situations -- and your metabolism stays stoked," group-fitness instructor AnneMarie Sampson says.
"High intensity interval training is a great way of getting started with a fitness program, or to get an awesome workout if already in great shape," group-fitness instructor Casey Baxter-Wilms says. "In all honestly, HIIT training is great for all levels of fitness and I will help modify anything if need be!"
