Workout Matchmaker: I want to get strong
"Workout Matchmaker" is designed to help you get the most out of our group-fitness program: In each column, we'll take a specific wellness goal and outline a few classes that you can take to meet this goal.
Here, we take one of the most common wellness goals: getting strong. We all know that we need to build up our muscles if we want to get strong, but which group-fitness class is the best option for pumping up those biceps, quads and glutes?
Let's go to the workout matchmaker....
Build those muscles
To get strong, we need to build up our muscles. And to do so, it's not just about piling on more and more weight when you work out with dumbbells and free weights. It's about working out smarter -- not harder -- to get big results that you can really see.
Start with Kettlebell Challenge
Back in the Cold War era, Soviet soldiers used kettlebells to train for hand-to-hand combat. While those days are long gone, the benefits of working out with kettlebells still remain.
In Kettlebell Challenge, you'll combine muscle-building workouts with cardio training in a high-intensity team atmosphere that will help you build a strong, lean and athletic body. But if you're not quite up for this particular challenge, we've got an Intro to Kettlebells class that will help you get started.
