The Perfect Workout: Tuesdays

"The Perfect Workout" series helps you get the most out of i.d.'s group-fitness program, weight room and cardio equipment.

With this series, we propose workout routines for each day of the week. We launched the series with Mondays, and now we move on to Tuesday. Most of you would agree that Tuesday is a bit of a nothing day -- the afterglow of the weekend has faded, and it's too early in the week to look forward to the next weekend. Because Tuesday is often a blank space on the calendar, we think it's a great day to have an awesome workout!

The perfect morning workout 

  1. Arrive at i.d. gym a few minutes before 6 am and give yourself a good stretch in our training area.

  2. Head to TRX Suspension Training at 6 am, position yourself under one of straps hanging from the TRX rack and prepare for a full-body workout using just your body weight with group-fitness instructor Vic Jackowiak. There's no better way to kickstart your Tuesday.

  3. TRX Suspension Training is a one-hour class, and if you're up for it, jump on one of our 12 Star Trac Treadmills or six Star Trac cross trainers for a 15-minute cardio workout.

  4. Stretch and cool down, hit the showers and off to work you go.

The perfect evening workout

  1. Get to i.d. a few minutes before 6 pm for the requisite stretch.

  2. Join us for in the smaller upstairs studio at 6 pm for Kickboxinga one-hour group-fitness class with Raegan Lindeke where you'll perform boxing and kickboxing drills for an intense cardio workout that strengthens the upper and lower body. 

  3. And if a Kickboxing class hasn't worked out your aggressions, go to our weight room to work out your chest, back, shoulders, arms, abs and legs with our array of free weights, dumbbells and Precor machines.

  4. Stretch, cool down and call it a day!
